Who is that Hot Stuff?

a spit of comments.
a groan of aches.
a moment to confuse.
a reason to fight.
a tear to trickle.
an antidote to laugh.
a lameness to feed on.

Its all in here!

Journey rekindled

I have forgotten the feeling of how reading books can imbue all the neurons and sensories i never knew i once had.

I could giggle to myself into teary eyes from the paraphrasing and simple yet powerful imagination. Some parts left me laughing out loud uncontrollably.

I now remember books have the ability to unlock that compelling satisfaction and it is addictive when you start one after another.
Sophie kinsella has always been one of my favourite author. Her ability to tap on character’s head in her book is what strike me as raw and genuine.  I also love how her writing incorporate disclosures and afterthoughts (side voice from the mind) pretty much like mine. I find that similarity so uncanny.

That is - My not so perfect life :)

Then there is this book that left me crying buckets. It hit the exact spot and activated a stream of tears as my thoughts traversed back into the abyss of unpleasant memory storage. I revisited my first encounter of death of a very close family - my grandmother. I ended up with swollen eyes and sobbing spells.

That is - When life became breathe. 😢

Last book i read was factfulness. It was such an eye opening book. I never realised how I was part of a systemic human judgement until i complete this. This book debunks misconceptions and tears down the very dramatic worldview I once believed in.

He left us this book for us to constantly check on our skewed and nasty human tendency to judge. Also a doctor who has dedicated his whole life in public health, research and absolutely committed to help his fellow human being to understand the inevitable change and steady uphill progress of the world.

I took longer to complete this book because i was carefully immersing myself into every global details, data, statistics, graphs and explanations. Thank you Dr. Hans Rosling for this book. Wish he was still around to comb through the world today in covid era and hear his impartial view of the current situation.

I did not realise i have inadvertently picked 3 different genres of book for my project last month. Fictional (light and hilarious), non fictional (knowledge), fictional (biodata of a dying neurosurgeon).

Reading has also revoked my love (desire) to journal or what many of us call blog. 🙃

Compelled

It took me exactly 2 attempts on 2 seperate days to complete Once upon a time in hollywood.

I have heard enough about the repertoire of Quentin tarantino as a director but admittedly i havent watched any of his masterpieces. Not even his recent few - django unchained and inglorius basterds.

So, while taking into consideration horrible reviews from many fellow movie connoisseur, I reminded myself to embrace this movie with an open mind.
(Afterall Leo is acting, how bad can that be?)

Unfortunately it was’t as easy as i thought. 10mins into the movie, i found myself feeling unattracted to the storyline. Thus I abandoned the plan to continue watching it few days back.

Today i put the movie on again, and 30minutes into the movie, i still failed to connect with the movie. I found myself distracted with the phone and chocolates.

Heck, i was watching only for the sake of wanting to check the movie off my list once and for all. I felt lost and uninspired like how the rest of leo’s movies would have made me feel halfway through.
I perservered. It finished the movie after 6 hours. 😅

(Without a doubt, Leo is an excellent actor)

To be extremely honest, i only enjoyed the last 10minutes of the movie. Because it was filled with actions and it felt less monotonous.

Movie ended, i was left baffled and unsettled. Me being me, I googled the meaning behind this masterpiece and i learnt about the horrifying murder of Sharon Tate in august 1969 by the manson family.

Now all i can say is - “Fuckin’ hell. QT is a genius”

Pandemics of Covid -19

Malaysians definition of restricted movement control order :

1. Panic buying > queue for hours at cashier in the supermarket

2. Lining up outside police station when PDRM announce that interstate travelling requires application

3. Balik fucking kampung to spread the virus to their frail parents, grandparents and at the same time diffusing the virus concentration in the city to countrysides thus zero containment!

*slowclaps* lim bu give you all one like

Malaysia boleh! Always infamous for the wrong reason! Number 1 most obese country in SEA.
Now number 1 in the total number of covid 19 cases (highest surge per day too! 100-150% increment)

Not forgetting all the cases that stem from the initial religious, travel matta fair, fishing competition gatherings!!!

What da fook are you guys smoking?

Already 2 mortalities. Does everyone want to aim for the highest death rate in SEA too now?

Belieber!

10 years ago, the world was “blessed” with..

And I was like baby, baby, baby oh
Like baby, baby, baby no
Like baby, baby, baby oh
I thought you'd always be mine (mine)

10 years later, JB did it again with...

Yeah, you got that yummy, yum
That yummy, yum
That yummy, yummy...

Both cause the same auditory and psychological effect. You either hate it to the core (yet you secretly hum to it) or you are a staunch BELIEBER while spreading his annoying song everywhere.

MJ must be turning in his grave 🙄

I wonder what is in store the next 10 years for us human! So bloody looking forward!

Bangkok expedition

One of the best customer service ever! Without a doubt i would rate it a 6 stars!

Found a write up about this shop and i was determined to try it. I set out alone to Bang Khun Non district hunting for this. Grab car dropped me quite a distance away from the actual location while time was running out! I frantically marched along the street like a mad hangry person while stopping passerby to ask where exactly is the shop. Communicating in English and getting reply in Thai! *pulls hair off scalp* Took me some time before i got to the place. Alas, by the time i found the shop, the shop grill was halfway down and they are closed for the day. Told me to come back tomorrow! I was so bummed for failing to try it myself after travelling 20mins out of the city centre!

However, after much persuasion, the owners took pity of me and cooked up the basic tomyam noodles with whatever meatballs and pork paste left 😭 #forevergrateful

Tewli and the chef are super friendly and they even gave me a complimentary lemongrass homemade juice for free. Tomyam is exactly the right note of spiciness i expected and it is authentic! Do take note that their original soup is made out of soy milk!

Will most definitely come back to this place the next round i come to bangkok!

This shop is tucked right in the middle of Bang Khun Non street. Look out for street no 7 which is opposite no 4.

Perks of solo travelling. :)
